Challenge Paddy Wagon Padding Press
Challenge Paddy Wagon padding press: 15,000-sheet capacity, gravity-align loading, welded steel, mobile. Authorized dealer Mid-State Litho, Michigan.
Details & specifications
Mid-State Litho is your Authorized Challenge Machinery dealer for the Paddy Wagon padding press. We have sold, installed, and serviced Challenge finishing equipment from our Michigan facility since 1984, and we cover printers, copy centers, and in-plant operations across the Great Lakes region and the broader United States.
The Paddy Wagon is the flagship of Challenge's portable padding-press family. Its 15,000-sheet capacity, self-aligning gravity-load system, welded tubular steel frame, and 30-inch by 30-inch caster base put it above the smaller Mini-Padder and Handy-Padder for shops running steady padding volume on note pads, scratch pads, carbonless sets, and presentation tear-offs.
Every Paddy Wagon order from Mid-State Litho ships freight to your dock with palletized LTL shipping, with optional lift-gate delivery. The unit arrives fully assembled and operator-ready; the 1-2-3 padding workflow needs only padding compound and a brush. Padding compound is sold separately by the gallon. Flexible equipment financing and leasing is available through our partners.

Challenge Paddy Wagon® - High-Capacity Portable Padding Press
High-volume, mess-free padding with a self-aligning gravity load system, welded tubular steel frame, and simple 1-2-3 operation. Ideal for copy centers, print shops, and in-plant printers.
How to choose a Challenge padding press
Challenge makes three padding presses. Use throughput as your primary selector and footprint as your secondary selector:
- Light volume / occasional pads -> Mini-Padder. Bench-top footprint, hand-clamp loading. Best for shops padding a few pads a week.
- Mid volume / mixed jobs -> Handy-Padder. Portable cart, larger capacity than the Mini-Padder. Best for copy centers and in-plant printers running steady but not heavy padding.
- 15,000 sheets per load, production padding -> Paddy Wagon (this page). 30" x 30" caster base, self-aligning gravity load, integrated padding-compound shelves, welded tubular steel frame. Best for shops where padding is a regular line-item job rather than an occasional service.
If you are not sure which model fits your volume, the Mid-State Litho Challenge team can sanity-check based on your typical job mix (pads per month, sheets per pad, paper weight) and recommend the right tier.
