Mid-State Litho is an authorized Formax dealer in Grand Blanc, Michigan. Formax builds print finishing and mailing equipment for shops that fold statements, cut and trim runs, shred records, pressure-seal forms, insert mail, and print envelopes or addresses in-house. We sell, install, train, and service Formax equipment across Michigan and the Great Lakes.
This brand page indexes the Formax lines we list: FD and Atlas folders, Cut-True guillotine cutters, deskside through high-security shredders and media destroyers, AutoSeal pressure sealers, folder-inserters, ColorMax and AP address printers, plus tabbers, creasers, and card cutters. Formax is often the mail-center brand on a floor that also runs Challenge or MBM cutters and Horizon or Morgana commercial finishing. Multi-brand is normal here.
Sizing a folder-inserter or Cut-True cutter is a volume, stock, and footprint conversation. We will match the model to your daily piece count, quote trade-in when an older folder or sealer still has life, and put the machine on the floor with operator training. Financing and leasing is available through Mitsubishi HC Capital and LEAF Commercial Capital. Call 1-800-343-4231.
Formax paper folders
Formax folders cover office and production document work. Live models include the FD 300, FD 314, FD 324, FD 346, FD 386, FD 38Xi, FD 3302, FD-6104 (folder-inserter family entry), and the production ATLAS-AS air-suction folder. The FD 3302 is a common document folder for letter, legal, A4, and custom sizes in mail shops and in-plants; air-feed and Atlas models handle higher volume and more demanding stock.
Compare multi-brand options on our paper folding machines hub (Horizon, Baum, Morgana, Martin Yale, Formax).
Formax Cut-True paper cutters
Cut-True is Formax's guillotine line, from manual and small-format units to hydraulic production cutters. Live examples:
- Cut-True 15M, 16M, 23S, 27S for manual and smaller-format work
- Cut-True 28A semi-automatic electric for light production
- Cut-True 29A electric and 29H hydraulic for daily shop cutting
- Cut-True 31H and 33H hydraulic for heavier commercial duty
If you need a Michigan-built hydraulic production cutter or a wider Triumph/MBM range, we will say so. Start at guillotine paper cutters, hydraulic cutters, electric cutters, Challenge, and MBM.
Formax shredders and data destruction
Shredders are a deep Formax category here: deskside cross-cut through high-security, conveyor, casino, and hard-drive destruction. Examples in the catalog include the FD 8206CC, FD 8304CC, FD 8402CC, FD 8502 series, FD 8602CC, FD 8652CC AutoOiler, FD 8704CC, and FD 8806 series.
High-security examples: FD 8300HS, FD 8400HS-1, FD 8500HS, FD 8650HS, FD 8732HS. Media and specialty: FD 87 Casino series, FD 87HD hard drive punch, FD 87HDS series, plus Greenwave 412 and Greenwave 432 cardboard perforators.
Match DIN cut level to the records policy (routine vs confidential vs high-security) before you buy. Compare Formax and MBM Destroyit on paper shredders, high-security shredders, and data destruction.
Formax ColorMax and address printers
ColorMax is Formax's digital color envelope and mail printing path. Live models include the ColorMax8, ColorMax 8C, ColorMax 7 series, and ColorMax 9 series. ColorMax8 is often quoted for production full-color envelopes and flat mailers; confirm media range and throughput on the quote.
Monochrome address printers: AP2, AP3, AP4, and AP4F for high-throughput envelope and postcard addressing (including Intelligent Mail Barcode workflows when the configuration supports it).

Formax AutoSeal pressure sealers and folder-inserters
AutoSeal folds and seals one-piece pressure-seal forms in a single pass (no separate envelope). Live examples: FD 1202, FD 1506, FD 1406, FD 1606, FD 2006, FD 2006IL, FD 2036, FD 2056, FD 2096, FD 2200-10, FD 2300. Common jobs: checks, PIN notices, grade reports, and statement mailers on pressure-seal stock.
Folder-inserters fold documents and stuff envelopes when the job needs a real envelope and optional inserts. Live series: FD-6210, FD-6406 series, FD-6608 series, plus the FD-6104 entry path. Higher configurations (when quoted) scale insert stations and envelope sizes for production mail centers. Envelope sealing attach: SEAL-GL.
Picking a folder inserter by station count. A folder inserter is specified by how many feed stations it has and what each station holds. One station handles a single insert, so a statement plus a return envelope. Four and six station machines run a statement, two or three inserts and a business reply envelope in one pass. Mid-State Litho lists the FD 6104, the FD 6212 Series, the FD 6406 Series and the FD 6608 Series, which cover one station desktop volume through six station production. Tell us the number of pieces per envelope and the daily volume and we will name the station count you need rather than the model you asked about.

How to choose Formax equipment
Four decisions settle most Formax quotes.
Mail path. Pressure-seal stock only: AutoSeal. Documents into envelopes with inserts: folder-inserter. Address or full-color envelopes: AP series or ColorMax. Many shops run more than one.
Fold volume. Desktop FD 300-series for light daily loads. FD 3302 and air-feed models for production document folding. ATLAS-AS when air suction and higher duty fit better. Horizon or Baum when the job is commercial buckle/knife folding outside Formax's mail-document sweet spot.
Cut duty. Cut-True for office and light commercial guillotine work. Challenge, MBM Triumph, or Perfecta when hydraulic production width and duty cycle outgrow Cut-True.
Security level. Match shredder DIN P-level and media type (paper, optical, hard drive) to policy. Do not overbuy P-7 for routine office waste, and do not underbuy for regulated records.
