Mid-State Litho stocks high-quality (HQ) ink for Standard Horizon and Ricoh digital duplicators, plus pre-inked pads for Graphic Whizard numbering machines. Every item on this page is a duplicator or numbering-machine consumable, not offset litho press ink, so you can match the exact ink to the machine you run. We are a family-owned Michigan dealer that has supplied print and bindery shops since 1984.

If you searched for printing press ink, digital press ink, ink for printing press, or duplicator ink, this is the right place for Standard Horizon Type VII and Type VIII HQ inks and Ricoh SD-series HQ inks. Shop by color and machine range below, or read the buyer's guide to confirm which cartridge fits your press.

If you run an offset press and need pressroom consumables such as fountain solution, spray powder, blankets, or plates, this collection does not carry offset litho ink, but we can source it. Call 1-800-343-4231 for a same-day quote, or start with our pressroom chemicals lane. We ship consumables alongside the equipment we sell and service, so the ink, the machine, and the technician all come from one dealer.

Standard Horizon Duplicator Ink (Type VII and Type VIII)

Standard Horizon digital duplicators run two HQ ink families. Type VII ink covers most current Horizon duplicator series, and Type VIII is matched to the machines specified for that grade; check your duplicator's model plate before ordering. Stocked on this page: Type VII HQ Brown ($49.00), Type VII HQ Maroon ($49.00), Type VII Reflex Blue HQ ($89.00), and Type VIII ($48.60). If you are unsure which grade your duplicator takes, call 1-800-343-4231 and we will confirm from the model number.

Ricoh HQ Ink for SD-Series Duplicators

Ricoh SD-series duplicators use HQ ink keyed to the model range printed on the machine. This page carries Green HQ Ink for the SD630/650 range ($55.00) and Hunter Green HQ Ink for the SD460/700 range ($89.00). Order the color and range that match your SD-series model; mixing ink grades across ranges is not recommended.

Graphic Whizard Pre-Inked Numbering Pads

Graphic Whizard numbering machines use replaceable pre-inked pads. We stock the Pre-Inked Black Ink Pad ($23.50) and the Red Pre-Inked Pad for Numbering Machines ($28.00), both sized for GW numbering heads. Mid-State Litho also sells and services the matching Graphic Whizard equipment, so pads and machines come from the same dealer.

How to Choose the Right Duplicator Ink

Match the ink to the machine first. For Standard Horizon duplicators, confirm whether your model takes Type VII or Type VIII ink. For Ricoh SD-series duplicators, match the model range, SD630/650 or SD460/700, before you pick a color. Graphic Whizard numbering heads use pre-inked pads, not bottle or cartridge ink.

Then choose the color. Stocked colors on this page are brown, maroon, and reflex blue in the Horizon Type VII line, plus green and hunter green in the Ricoh HQ line, and black and red pads for numbering machines.

Plan for volume. Duplicator ink is a repeat-purchase consumable, so order enough to cover your run length between changeovers; contact us for per-cartridge yield on your specific model.

What not to buy here: offset press ink is a different chemistry and will not run in a duplicator. If you need offset consumables, see pressroom chemicals, fountain solution, or offset spray powders, or call 1-800-343-4231 for a quote.

Why Buy Pressroom Consumables from Mid-State Litho

Mid-State Litho is a family-owned Michigan dealer founded in June 1984, more than 42 years serving print and bindery shops. Our factory-trained, in-house service technicians support the same equipment lines whose consumables we stock, including Standard Horizon and Graphic Whizard, so the ink you order ships from the dealer that also services the machine.

We turn quotes around the same day, keep fast-moving consumables ready to ship, and can source offset pressroom items such as offset printing blankets, polyester printing plates, and industrial cleaning supplies. Equipment financing and leasing is available, and our service and support team is a phone call away at 1-800-343-4231.

Printing Press Ink FAQ

What ink do I need for my printing press?
It depends on the machine. This collection carries ink for digital duplicators, Standard Horizon and Ricoh SD-series, not offset litho press ink. Find your machine's make and model, then match Type VII or Type VIII for Horizon, or the SD630/650 or SD460/700 range for Ricoh. If you run a true offset press, call 1-800-343-4231 and we will source the correct pressroom ink.

What is the difference between offset ink and digital duplicator ink?
Offset ink is a thick, oil-based paste that transfers from plate to blanket to paper on an offset press. Digital duplicator ink is a thinner emulsion that passes through a master on Standard Horizon or Ricoh duplicators. They are not interchangeable. This page covers duplicator ink and numbering-pad ink only; for offset pressroom consumables, see pressroom chemicals or request a quote.

Which HQ ink fits Standard Horizon digital duplicators?
Standard Horizon duplicators use either Type VII or Type VIII HQ ink depending on the model. Type VII covers the brown, maroon, and reflex blue colors on this page; Type VIII is a separate grade. Check the ink type printed on your machine or the old cartridge, or call 1-800-343-4231 with your model number and we will confirm the correct grade.

Does Mid-State Litho supply offset litho inks and pressroom consumables?
We stock digital duplicator inks and numbering pads online. We do not list offset litho ink on this page, but we can source it along with pressroom consumables. For those, see pressroom chemicals, fountain solution, or offset spray powders, or call 1-800-343-4231 for a same-day quote on offset pressroom supplies.

What are pre-inked pads for numbering machines?
Pre-inked pads are the replaceable ink source inside Graphic Whizard numbering heads. As the pad wears or dries, print quality fades and you swap in a fresh pad rather than re-inking by hand. We stock black and red pads sized for GW numbering machines; match the color to your job and keep a spare on hand to avoid downtime.
