Details & specifications

Mid-State Litho is an authorized Formax dealer serving Michigan and the Great Lakes region since 1984. The ColorMax 7 Series puts full-color, Memjet-powered output on your bindery or mailroom floor at up to three times the speed of a traditional shuttle-head color printer, at roughly one-third the per-page cost. The print head carries 70,400 nozzles and no moving parts, so you get higher speeds and fewer service points. Two configurations ship from our floor: the ColorMax 7 base unit ($19,195) and the ColorMax 7C ($23,195), which adds a 3-foot conveyor stacker for unattended runs. Both are stocked, freight-delivered, and installed by our factory-trained technicians, who also train your operators and keep the machine running. When your color volume outgrows the 7 Series, we carry the ColorMax 8, 9, 9C, and 9 Pro in the same family, so you have a clear upgrade path without changing vendors.

Formax ColorMax 7 Series Digital Color Printer

The ColorMax 7 Series uses Memjet inkjet technology to produce full-color output at up to three times the speed of traditional shuttle-head printers, at roughly one-third the per-page cost. The Memjet print head has 70,400 nozzles and no moving parts, for higher speeds, lower ink and maintenance costs, and less noise.

It produces full CMYK output (up to 16.8 million colors) on a wide range of stocks and sizes, with full-bleed capability on media up to 8.5 inches wide. Print resolutions reach 1600 x 1600 dpi at 6 ips and 1600 x 800 dpi at 12 ips. Thermal inkjet means no heat or contact, so it runs safely on pre-printed and windowed envelopes.

How to Choose: ColorMax 7 vs 8 vs 9

The right model follows your color volume and budget. The ColorMax 7 and 7C ($19,195 / $23,195) fit entry-to-mid color volume. The ColorMax 8 and 8C ($22,795 / $23,595) step up the speed. The ColorMax 9, 9C, and 9 Pro ($36,995 / $40,995 / $45,500) are built for production color. The C suffix designates the conveyor-stacker option for unattended stacking. For volume-based sizing, call us and we will match the model to your work.
