The Akiles VersaMac is a heavy-duty electric binding punch for print shops, binderies, and corporate print rooms that punch high volumes in more than one binding style. One machine accepts interchangeable dies for over 14 punch patterns, so the same punch runs plastic comb, wire, coil, velo, 3-hole, and calendar work without a dedicated machine for each. Construction is all metal, and an auto-reverse function clears jams before they stop the run.

VersaMac dies

The VersaMac punches one hole pattern at a time. You change the pattern when you change the die. Each die is sold separately.

Mid-State Litho lists 13 VersaMac dies:

• Comb: rectangular comb die.
• Coil: 4:1 round, 4:1 oval, 5 mm round, 6 mm round and 6 mm oval.
• Wire: 3:1 round, 3:1 square, 2:1 round and 2:1 rectangular.
• Wire with half-moon cut: 3:1 round and 3:1 square.
• 3-hole: 3-hole round die.
