Details & specifications
The Formax FD 300 is a low-volume desktop paper folding machine for offices and light-production print shops. It is friction-fed with a hopper that holds up to 200 sheets and runs up to 7,400 sheets per hour, fast enough to clear letters, statements, and mailers without hand-folding. The manually adjusted fold plates are pre-set for the four folds most jobs need: C (letter), Z (accordion), V (half), and double parallel, on sheets up to 8.5 by 14 inch. At 25 lb on a 24 by 14 inch footprint it fits on a desk or mail bench. Mid-State Litho is an authorized Formax dealer and installs, trains, and services the FD line across Michigan and the Great Lakes. Not a drop-ship: we deliver it, set it up, train your operators, and support it.

How to choose a paper folding machine
- Volume. The FD 300 (this page) is the low-volume desktop model at up to 7,400 sheets/hour with a 200-sheet hopper. For heavier daily runs step up the FD line to the FD 314 and FD 346.
- Setup: manual fold plates vs automatic. The FD 300 uses hand-adjusted fold plates, simple and economical. The FD 314 (EQ-460) adds preset/automatic fold selection for faster job changes; the air-feed FD 346 (EQ-492) handles glossy and heavier stocks.
- Feed type: friction vs air. The FD 300 is friction-fed, which is fine for standard office stock. Coated or glossy sheets that double-feed call for an air-feed folder like the FD 346.
- Fold types. Confirm the folds you run (C, Z, V, double parallel are all on the FD 300) match the machine before you buy.
