Akiles CoilMac-EX41 Coil Binding Machine
The Akiles CoilMac-EX41 is a heavy-duty electric coil binding machine for print shops and binderies that bind plastic spiral coil in volume. It punches 4:1 (0.25 inch pitch) round holes up to a 13 inch binding edge, takes up to 25 sheets per lift, and adds a full-size electric coil inserter with crimpers, so an operator can punch, insert, and finish the coil without hand-feeding every book. Five pins are disengageable for common sheet sizes. Mid-State Litho is an authorized Akiles dealer; we deliver, install, and service the CoilMac line across Michigan and the Great Lakes region. How to choose an electric coil binder
- Punch only vs punch-and-insert. The EX41 includes a full-size electric inserter; you punch, insert, and crimp on one machine. The ECP and ECP+ punch and crimp only and you insert by hand. Pick the inserter model for daily-volume binding.
- Hole shape: round vs oval. The EX41 punches round holes; the EX41+ and ECP+ punch oval. Match the hole shape to the coil you stock.
- Throat and pitch. 13 inch edge, 4:1 (0.25 inch) pitch, 25-sheet punch. Confirm your booklet size and coil pitch.
- Disengageable pins. 5 on the EX41 for common sheet sizes; the ECP+ disengages all 54 for the widest custom-size range.
