Details & specifications
The Akiles Crimp@Coil is an electric, double-sided coil crimper for a bindery running spiral-coil books at volume. It cuts and crimps both ends of the coil in one cycle, so an operator is not finishing coils by hand with crimping pliers. It handles coil diameters from 6mm to 50mm, runs at 54 cycles per minute, and is foot-pedal operated, which keeps both hands on the book. Setup is a simple 5-step process. It pairs with a coil punch and inserter (the CoilMac-EX or CoilMac-EPI line) to turn a manual coil-finishing step into a fast, repeatable one. Made in South Korea. Mid-State Litho is an authorized Akiles dealer and has sold and serviced binding equipment across Michigan and the Great Lakes since 1984. We deliver it, set it up, and train your operators.

Where it fits in a coil line
- Punch. An electric coil punch like the Akiles CoilMac-EX41 or CoilMac-EX Pro makes the holes.
- Insert. The coil is spun in by hand or by an inserter.
- Crimp. The Crimp@Coil cuts and crimps both ends electrically, replacing hand pliers, at 54 cycles per minute.
For a shop that wants insertion and crimping combined in one unit, the Akiles Finish@Coil E1 inserts and crimps together. Choose the Crimp@Coil as the dedicated high-volume crimper for shops that already insert.
