The Epson T6714 ink maintenance box (also sold under part number T671400, the same part, one box in the carton) collects the ink that WorkForce Pro printers flush during print head cleaning cycles. When the box reaches capacity, the printer stops printing until it is replaced, so keeping a spare on the shelf avoids downtime in the middle of a run. Your printer's control panel and driver software report maintenance box status and warn you before it fills.
This is the correct maintenance box for the WorkForce Pro WF-C8190 and WF-C8690 A3 series, the WF-C869R, WF-C878R and WF-C879R, and the EM-C7100 and EP-C7000. It is not the box used by the WorkForce Enterprise AM series (that is the C9382). Replacement takes under a minute: the box slides out of its bay by the handle cutout, no tools.
