Akiles ProLam Ultra-X10 Pouch Laminator
The Akiles ProLam Ultra-X10 is a heavy-duty, high-speed pouch laminator built for a print shop or in-plant that laminates all day. It runs 10 silicone rollers, 6 heated and 4 cold, which seals the pouch under heat then pulls it through the cold rollers to set it flat without curl. The 13 inch wide throat takes letter and tabloid pouches, it laminates at up to 142 inches per minute, and two customizable memory settings let an operator save heat-and-speed presets for the films they run most. An auto-shutoff backs it up at the end of a run. Made in South Korea. How to choose a pouch laminator
- Roller count. More heated rollers means more dwell time and a flatter, bubble-free seal at speed. The Ultra-X10 runs 10 rollers (6 hot, 4 cold), the high end of the ProLam Ultra line, for production volume.
- Throat width. 13 inch here handles letter and tabloid pouches. Measure your widest pouch before buying.
- Speed and presets. 142 inch/min with two memory presets suits a shop running mixed films back to back. Lower-volume work does not need the speed.
- Pouch vs roll. Pouch laminators are simplest for short runs and rigid cards; high-volume continuous work points to a roll laminator instead.
