The Akiles VersaMac WIRE 3:1 (Round) & Half-Moon Cut die is an interchangeable punch die for the Akiles VersaMac electric binding punch. It punches a WIRE 3:1 pattern with round holes and adds a half-moon cut. The Akiles part number is AVM-D31MR.
A 3:1 pattern has three holes per inch.
How this die differs from the standard 3:1 die
Mid-State Litho also lists the WIRE 3:1 (Round) die. That die punches the same hole pattern without the half-moon cut. Choose this die only when your job needs the half-moon cut.
How the VersaMac die system works
The VersaMac is one punch with interchangeable dies. You change the hole pattern when you change the die. Mid-State Litho lists 13 VersaMac dies for comb, coil, wire and 3-hole work.
The VersaMac punching width is 14 in., with open ends for longer sheets.
