Graphic Whizard PT 331SCC slit, cut, crease and cross perf system

The Graphic Whizard PT 331SCC slits, cuts, creases, and cross perforates a digital sheet in one pass. It is built for short-run, fast-turn digital work. An adjustable slitter takes the place of the fixed cassettes on a card cutter, the crease and perf dies are interchangeable, and the machine compensates for image shift off a registration mark, so business cards, mailers and tickets come off the delivery trimmed and folded to the printed image.

Key features

  • Slits, cuts, creases and cross perfs in one pass, which cuts the handling and setup a multi-machine workflow needs.
  • Adjustable slitters instead of fixed cassettes, so layouts and formats change over at the machine.
  • Interchangeable crease and perf dies to match the stock, the fold style, and the perf pattern.
  • Registration mark cut compensation corrects for image shift down the sheet on digital prints.
  • Up to 32 creases or perfs per pass for layouts with multiple folds or tear-offs.
  • Runs sheets up to 13" x 26", which covers multi-up business cards, postcards, rack cards, and larger digital formats.
  • Stores 32 jobs for repeat work.
  • LCD screen and keypad, manual feed, and a footprint that fits a working shop floor.

Applications

  • Multi-up business cards and postcards
  • Direct mail pieces, rack cards, and announcement cards
  • Tickets, coupons, and tear-off forms with cross perforation
  • Brochures, folded pieces, and covers that need a clean crease
  • Short-run digital work in quick printers, in-plants, and commercial shops

What it changes on the floor

  • Slitting, cutting, creasing and perforating happen at one machine instead of three.
  • Adjustable slitters and stored jobs shorten setup and changeover.
  • Registration mark compensation keeps the cut on the printed image on digital sheets.
  • One machine covers formats from 2" x 1.8" finished up to a full 13" x 26" sheet, on 150 to 350 gsm stock.

How to choose a Graphic Whizard slit, cut and crease unit

The PT331SCC is the hand-feed entry unit and fits short-run digital card and mailer work. The PT331SCC AIR adds an air-suction feeder for longer, more consistent runs. The PT335SCC B Multi moves to a larger format and higher volume. All three take the same interchangeable crease and perf dies, so a shop can start on the PT331SCC and keep its die sets when it steps up. Those three units are what Mid-State Litho carries in this line; the wider range sits in the Graphic Whizard equipment collection and in perforating, slitting and scoring machines.

Dies and consumables for the PT331SCC

The cross perf dies are interchangeable and come in 12, 24 and 52 tpi pitches, so you can stock the pitch your tear-off work actually calls for and swap it at the machine. The cross perf crash pad is the matching wear part underneath the die. A conveyor outfeed stacks finished sheets off the delivery and also fits the PT335SCC B. All of these are stocked accessories rather than special order; the die pitches and the crash pad are listed in Graphic Whizard parts. For multi-up card layouts, the business card cutters, slitters and creasers collection shows where the PT331SCC sits against the rest of the card-finishing range.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Graphic Whizard PT331SCC do?

It slits, cuts, creases and cross perforates digital sheets in one pass. Interchangeable crease and perf dies and an adjustable slitter replace fixed cassette card cutters, so one machine finishes business cards, mailers and tickets.

What stock weights does the PT331SCC handle?

It runs stock from 150 to 350 gsm and compensates for registration marks, so digitally printed sheets stay in register through the cut.

Can the PT331SCC produce business cards?

Yes. It cuts multi-up business card sheets and adds creases or perforations in the same pass, which is the common short-run digital card workflow.

How is the PT331SCC different from the PT335SCC B?

The PT331SCC is the hand-feed entry model in the slit, cut and crease line. The PT335SCC B is a larger-format unit for higher volumes. Both use interchangeable dies.

How much does the PT331SCC cost and how do I order?

The PT331SCC is priced at $12,415 and ships by freight. Call Mid-State Litho for a freight quote to your dock or to schedule a demo on your own stock.
