US Paper Counters Countwise-1 Paper Counter
The Countwise-1 is an automatic paper counter and batch counting machine from US Paper Counters, built for print shops, binderies, and mailrooms that need verified sheet counts. It counts a full lift of printed or unprinted sheets on a 27" x 27" table at up to 2,500 counts per minute, and it can drop a physical tab to mark each batch break. That lets an operator confirm a press count or split a bindery lot without hand-counting a single sheet.
As a compact, U.S.-made paper counting machine, the Countwise-1 fits into an existing finishing line and takes over the slow, error-prone job of manual counting so your team can move product out the door with confidence.
The US Paper Counters lineup
Mid-State Litho carries the full US Paper Counters range so you can match the counter to your volume and how sheets are presented:
- Countwise-1 ($22,000) - the standard automatic sheet counter shown on this page.
- Countwise-1 with Tabbing ($25,445) - the same counter fitted with the batch-tabbing head.
- Countwise-M ($23,900) - the manual-feed sheet counter sibling.
- Bantam-1 batch counter/tabber and the Shooter IID in-line press counter/tabber round out the line for higher-volume and in-line press work.
Where the Countwise-1 earns its keep
Use it for press-count verification, batch tabbing on bindery runs, and inventory or shipping counts. As a fast, accurate sheet counter it prevents shortages and overages in fulfillment, speeds up outgoing job checks, and removes labor-intensive hand counts from booklet, form, coupon, and ticket batching. Its small footprint means it slots into most pressrooms and bindery floors without a rearrangement.

Frequently asked questions
How does the Countwise-1 count paper?
It measures a stack of sheets and reports the count automatically, and can insert a tab to mark each batch, which removes hand-counting from press-count verification.
What is the difference between the Countwise-1 and the Countwise-M?
The Countwise-1 is the automatic sheet counter; the Countwise-M is the manual-feed sibling in the same US Paper Counters line. The right choice depends on volume and how sheets are presented to the machine.
Can the Countwise-1 tab or mark batches?
Yes. With the tabbing head (the Countwise-1 with Tabbing configuration) it drops a physical tab at each batch break for bindery and shipping lots.
What does a Countwise-1 paper counter cost?
The Countwise-1 lists at $22,000 and the tabbing configuration at $25,445. Financing and trade-ins are available through Mid-State Litho.
